Thank you for considering adopting a rescued English Springer Spaniel. English Springer Spaniels are extremely loving and intelligent dogs. Rescue dogs are looking for a caring home to give them a second start at life. Seniors have a lot of life left in them and they have the added nature of being calm, confident companions. So please consider a senior too.
The following adoption application will help us to determine the particulars you are looking for in a dog, but also to which Springer Spaniel Rescue member nearest you to forward your adoption inquiry.
An adoption application is required. Foster dogs placed are spayed or neutered and are current on vaccinations. We do ask that if you adopt a dog through our referral program, you make a tax-deductible donation to help us continue to care for other Springers who need assistance when found to be unwanted, abandoned, and/or abused.
We work hard at matching our foster dogs to the best home for them. When meeting a rescue dog, we find the best results come from adopters talking to fosters about the available dog and spending some time with the dog. We help adopters to evaluate compatibility. If you consider an interstate adoption, we want you to talk about the dog’s temperament, health, and transportation options thoroughly with the foster home before making the decision to adopt the dog. We take each adoption as a serious matchmaking event so time and discussion are the best ways to know if it is a match.
Submitting an adoption application is just one step in the adoption process. SSRI follows these steps to determine acceptance: a review process that involves collecting information from your application, a phone interview, a vet and/or personal reference check, and a home visit.
Making decisions about dog placement in adoptive homes is an “art”, not a “science”, and there might be times when applications will be denied for various reasons. This is left to the discretion of the Springer Spaniel Rescue, Inc. after reviewing all available information. Springer Spaniel Rescue, Inc. reserves the right to make all decisions regarding placement or final disposition of any rescued dog in its care into a foster or adoptive home. There is absolutely no guarantee, made or implied, that any person or persons requesting to adopt an English Springer Spaniel being fostered through Springer Spaniel Rescue, Inc., or posted on Springer Spaniel Rescue, Inc. website, will be granted an adoption.
Dogs in foster care are carefully evaluated by our dedicated volunteers, and we ask many questions of prospective adopters so that we can make just the right match between dog and adopter. The information you supply will help us do that.
