Sam is a smart, big-headed, lovey dovey, 2-year-old liver and white field Springer. He is such a sweetheart and absolutely loves tummy rubs. He comes when called, knows sit and is working on stay. He does sits and wait for his breakfast and dinner. He walks good on a leash with a no pull harness. He enjoys the outdoors and has no problem going on a long walk or hike. Sam has no car ride anxiety at all. He will hop in the back and sit down immediately and wait patiently until we arrive eat our destination. He is not much of a food beggar he will sit and patiently watching us eat. He doesn’t try to sneak food off your plate or get up on the table. He enjoys the backyard and has a great fondness for eating pine cones, cedar chips from the garden and whole bushes, yes whole bushes. He gets along well with other dogs and does not instigate trouble but if another dog comes at him, he will retaliate. Sam is currently living with 2 other female dogs and he enjoys running after or being chased by the other dogs. He can be active but for the most part he enjoys laying around sleeping all day. He loves people and loves to cuddle with people. He does have slight separation anxiety but once he is in his forever home, I feel that could go away. Now that he is settled in at his foster home he doesn’t cry anymore when we leave but when we first got him, he would get anxious and cry when we left the house. When we first got Sam, he was sleeping in his crate overnight and would go in there all by himself when it was time to go to bed. He is now sleeping in our bed with and one other Springer but he is also fine sleeping in his crate or on the sofa.
