Springer Spaniel Rescue, Inc. (SSRI) helps all ages of English Springer Spaniels find foster and forever homes where they are loved and cared for. We identify people who want senior and younger Springer Spaniels for loving family members. When life-altering events happen and owners who can no longer care for their Springers and must give them up for adoption, SSRI provides the bridge between the previous owner and the new human without embarrassment.
All too often there are senior English Springer Spaniels who have lost their homes because their owners have tired of them, become ill, moved to an apartment that doesn’t allow dogs or the owner passed away. These dogs are loving, flexible and caring. They need homes temporarily and permanently. Perhaps you’ve been looking for a companion who loves you and just enjoys your company.
We are a group of people who love our Springer Spaniels and want to help all ages of Springer Spaniels find good homes in the western states. Springer Spaniel Rescue, Inc. (SSRI) works with other rescue organizations and shelters. We know this breed and we find both rescues and shelters like working with a positive rescue like ours.
SSRI is dedicated to finding both foster and permanent homes for Springer Spaniels. Over the years, we have specialized on placing older rescued Springers. We still do that and now we will help all ages of Springers. We love this breed and love working with good people to find the right dog and the right people for the dogs we have.

Dogs are my passion! I joined SSRI in 2020 as a foster and social media coordinator after adopting my second springer Rory from SSRI. Shortly ofter that I had the opportunity to become the CA State Coordinator and have had the wonderful opportunity of finding homes for several springers to date.

I became a volunteer when SSRI was first formed. For me, rescue is a true labor of love. I have a tremendous feeling of gratitude when the dogs I rescue blossom into a happy and loved family dog. I have fostered many dogs for SSRI and foster failed several times (meaning I adopted the dogs I fostered). It's hard not to fall in love.

Love of animals has been with me all of my life, but with one phone call in early January of 2018 I was called to action. That first save of a springer puppy started me down the path of rescue with SSRI. I have had the opportunity to be state coordinator, secretary, vice president and most recently president. I work along side wonderful volunteers and helped springers find their furever homes.

I started fostering for SSRI in January 2022 and became the Colorado Coordinator in June. I love finding new homes for the Springers that come into the rescue and have helped to place 3 since June. I have rescued 5 Springer Spaniels in the past 25 years and am committed to the goals of our rescue and helping Springers find new forever homes.

I became a volunteer with SSRI, Inc. in April of 2018. I began by mostly doing transports for them. We rescued our Remy out of Salem, Oregon from his dedicated foster family there. I’ve participated in fundraising and holiday gift wrapping with all the wonderful volunteers. I especially love this breed and have always been partial to the hunting/bird dogs for their intelligence, sweet personalities and loyalty.
