Introducing Doc: ADOPTED

Doc has been in and out of foster care since March and is presently staying with a family near Salem, OR. He is a high energy Springer but very much a homebody who loves to snuggle, sleep on the bed and play with his toys. In his foster home, he is the perfect gentleman, housetrained and respectful of the home’s furnishings and possessions. He listens well and has mastered “sit”, “down”, “wait” (for his food), “stay” and “leave it”. Initially, he would rush any door as it opened but has been cured of that with a stern “stay”. He gets very excited when it is time for a walk but, once outside, his leash manners are much improved, although this is still a work in progress. Doc has recently discovered the joys of lure coursing and likes nothing more than to run like the wind!! He has learned that by cutting the corners of the course, he can more easily catch “Mr. Baggie”!! Doc also loves to swim.

He is not a good traveler in the car, as he drools, whines and cannot settle. We continue to try to resolve or ameliorate this with different suggestions but so far have not been successful. Doc wants and needs to be an only pet because he will guard his people from other pets.

Doc was born on 10/28/2017, weighs 62 lbs, is neutered, up to date on all shots, microchipped and heart worm negative.

If you are looking for a delightful, funny and handsome springer, we can arrange for transport anywhere in the West or Southwest. The usual adoption application and approval are required.

Introducing Leo

Leo just got a clean bill of health from the vet and is now available for adoption. Leo recently joined SSRI when his owner could no longer meet Leo’s needs and wanted to give Leo the best life possible. Leo is 1.5 years old and full of fieldie, puppy energy. He spends his days at his foster home, constantly going in and out the doggy door to run around the backyard, play ball and to be with his foster family and a 2 year old springer. Leo will need a big back yard to run and play, continued work on his leash manners and possibly another playful canine sibling. He is good with kids, hasn’t been tested with cats or dogs smaller than him. If you think that your family can provide a loving home that is able to meet Leo’s needs, please visit our website and complete an adoption application.
