Meet Rio-Adopted

If you’re looking for sweet and funny, I’m your guy. I’ll melt your heart the minute you meet me. My soulful eyes with long lashes will draw you in. I am a gentle cuddle bug, and come with the full Velcro package, unlimited edition. I’m vaccinated, heartworm negative, house trained, know all commands, and get this, silent hand signals too! 

I’d like living with a couple or family with older kids to share my love and balance my attention, and hopefully one of you is home most of the time. Of course I’d rather be the only pooch, but I like hanging out with canine pals too.  Large males and energetic youngsters can get on my nerves. Kids? 12+ please because I’m a big guy and don’t know it. Kitties? They are fun to chase. Birds? Could care less. Meeting sidewalk K9 soldiers? It depends. Doggy park pals? Nope. Big fenced yard? Hallelujah! House visitors? Like ‘em all, just ask me first. Car rides? Anywhere with you! Vet visits? Let’s talk. Groomer? Love me a good spa day!

My previous life consisted of junk food and couch patrol. My thyroid wasn’t working and the weight kept coming on. Nowadays, get out my harness and let the rodeo begin! But my real love is swimming! I would love a home that has a place for me to swim! Plan on making me rest and dragging me out. Did I mention being licensed as a snow plow while in Utah? Or that I mastered the squeaker toy rumba and the back-wiggle boogie? Then there’s that Teddy Bear thing I got goin’ on.

I’m so happy being on this health kick since coming into rescue. I’ve lost a ton of weight and I am now down to my ideal weight of 60 pounds (I am a big boy). A low calorie food without lamb and oats is my favorite. I feel like a new dog! I love to go, and getting outside for short hikes would be really fun, especially if there is a lake at the end of the trail.
